Master Your Video Marketing in 30 Minutes
A good video is ALWAYS a helpful thing to include in your real estate listings.
But the problem with video is, it’s a huge pain to do them well.
It takes years of learning and practice to even approach a high-quality video – and that’s why most people don’t do it. Heck – just understanding how to use video editing software can take a long time to figure out.
Ever since video was invented, there’s always been a huge barrier to entry, but something you may not know is – in recent years, videos have gotten MUCH easier to make.
Even if you’ve never spent one second of your life creating professional videos, I’m willing to bet that even you have what it takes to do this.
Here’s one I just made in just a few minutes…
Making this video was not difficult.
I used a website called InVideo to do it.
InVideo allows anyone and everyone to do video, with no need for an editor or sophisticated editing skills.
Here, I’ll show you how I did it:
If you’ve ever used Canva, you’ll find a lot of similarities here. In fact, it’s actually one of InVideo’s goals is to be the Canva for video creation, and so far they seem to be on the right track.
Now obviously, most real estate investors can use this kind of software to make property listing videos, but there are a lot of other creative ways to put these kinds of videos to use.
In fact, this is something that most of the biggest news and entertainment websites on the internet have been doing for years. Ever seen these kinds of short videos before?
The point is, you aren’t limited to creating property listings with this software. You could also use it to consistently give out helpful, interesting content to your buyers list, your followers, your potential clients and the like.
People use this kind of software for two common purposes:
- Content Marketing (giving out information and tips to people to build trust)
- Creating Ads for Products (5 – 10-second bumper)
This is the exact software used by companies like:
- Reuters
- CNN
- CNBC
- Sony Music
You see, InVideo used to be strictly an enterprise product (only accessible to big companies making over 1,000 videos per month), but the software was just recently opened it up to smaller “prosumers” and consumers just like you and me.
Making Money From Video
Another potential use for this kind of software is to create videos and sell them to other people and companies.
Creating and editing a single video can be a very expensive thing to outsource (trust me, I’ve tried it and it’s not cheap), but when you have software that makes it this easy, and if you feel like you’ve got a knack for it, you could easily create and sell videos for $100-a-pop and the software would easily pay for itself very quickly.
And speaking of cost, this is BY FAR, the cheapest software of its kind (which is surprising, considering how dynamic and easy it is to work with).
They have a free plan that allows up to 10 videos per month (limited to 720p). It’s without a watermark too – which is a big deal. You won’t find this anywhere else.
I’ve used other software like this in the past – and what I like about InVideo is that it gives you A LOT of different options and ways to customize these videos. You aren’t stuck with one or two basic templates, you can go nuts with how you want your videos to look (e.g. – fonts, colors, length, music, images, stock footage, etc).
Things to Watch Out For
Unfortunately, whenever software presents you with more options and choices, this also gives you more layers of complexity, which means you’ll have more things to learn and sift through (don’t get me wrong – it’s nice to have flexibility, but it also adds to the learning curve).
The first time I logged into the site, it took me a while to figure out where to go and what to do… so I wouldn’t call it “idiot-proof”, but once you’ve figured out the basics, it’s a breeze.
I’ve also found that not all of the stock music and the stock footage is a great fit for every video. Some of the music sounds a little cheesy and not all of the stock music is top-shelf quality, so it’s important to make the right choice when you’re creating your videos – or it could have more of a negative impact on the things you’re promoting.
For the same reason, it’s important to use high-quality images, footage in your final video, it’s just as important to use high-quality audio elements that actually convey the vibe you’re looking for.
Hint: If you ever need to buy royalty-free stock music for your videos, check out BeatSuite, PremiumBeat, AudioJungle or Epidemic Sound.
For the cost of this software – it can bring a HUGE value to the table if you actually use it. I literally don’t know of an easier way to make videos like this, without using any crazy expensive software that bogs down your computer and takes hours to produce.
For 99% of real estate investors I know, this is probably the best option to use if they want to start making videos on a regular basis.
